Subject Pedagogy:

Possibilities and Challenges

Zoom Meeting: Open to All, No Registration Fee

In Japan, research on subject education such as science education and social studies education has been recognized as not only a part of educational research but also an independent discipline—Subject Pedagogy, which has its own aim and methodology different from general pedagogy. The presenters will showcase the history and characteristics of Subject Pedagogy with a case of social studies education. Three prominent social studies and history education scholars will comment on the presentation based on their own country’s context.
